Registration concerns

registration-concerns1.jpegIf I am Registered and I do Not Believe I should Be What Can I do?

You are required by law to register with CITB NI if:

1. You are working in the construction industry
2. You are an employer
3. You are working in Northern Ireland for 27 or more weeks in the
    relevant tax year

If you do not meet the above criteria and have been registered, please contact CITB NI Levy Team on 028 9082 5466 or email:   levy@citbni.org.uk and notify them of the exact query.

If the activities of your business have changed since you registered and you no longer believe they fall within the scope of Schedule 1 of the Industrial Training Board Order 1964, please contact CITB NI who will initiate a scope audit.  (See more information under What is a Scope Audit?)

An employer has also the right to appeal the amount of the invoice or the scope position of their business to the Industrial Tribunal.  This must be done within one month from the date of service of the invoice.  As this can be an expensive procedure, CITB NI would encourage any queries in relation to levy to be discussed initially with the Levy Team as it may be possible to rectify the matter without the requirement of an Industrial Tribunal hearing.
