Built Environment Sector Partnership (BESP)

A Built Environment Sector Partnership (BESP) has been formed to share knowledge, training and act as a collective voice of industry to ensure that construction apprenticeships meet the needs of employers, have sufficient breadth to support portability and build capacity for apprenticeships and youth training within the construction sector.
Consisting of industry employer representatives, training providers and the Dept. for Economy, the partnership  is chaired by CITB NI who  facilitate the on-going work of the partnership.  The partnership will review existing apprenticeship frameworks as well as identifying any new or higher level apprenticeship frameworks required.  As each apprenticeship framework is reviewed or developed, industry will be consulted to ensure that the current and future needs of the sector are incorporated.

The apprenticeship frameworks introduced by the Deptartment for the Economy will set out the required standards, preferred assessment approach and qualifications for each occupation with the new apprenticeship frameworks being introduced on a phased basis.
