6. Current Year Option
The Option is when levy is calculated on the current tax year figures. You would
only take the Option if your emoluments were:
* going to be less in the current tax year than in the previous year OR
* if it is your first year of trade and you wish to avail of grants
Restrictions
* Once an election has been made,
it cannot be withdrawn or amended by the employer.
* If you chose to base your levy on the Current Year Option, you will be required to complete
two additional Statutory Return forms in October and April.
* It is not possible to pay levy by Direct Debit if you take the Current Year Option.
* All deadlines are strictly adhered to and cannot be appealed. Late Option requests and Returns will be refused
without exception.
* Please note that your business will not be able to claim grant aid if you fail to complete ANY Return by the specified deadlines. This cannot be appealed.
Please refer to the Option Flyer which is available online for further information.
The deadline for receiving Option requests is as advised on the annual Return form
, unless it is your first year of trade.
This deadline is strictly adhered to. Late Option requests will be refused without exception.
All Return forms must be submitted to CITB NI on or before the specified deadlines. Failure to do so will result in CITB NI removing the Current Year Option facility and your levy will be reverted back to the previous tax year for assessment. No excuses will be accepted for the late return of the form/s received after the deadlines.
Please note that your business will not be able to claim grant aid if you fail to complete ANY Return by the specified deadlines.
