Opportunities in Built Heritage

CITB NI has received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) under its ‘Skills for the Future’ programme for the delivery of the first ever Heritage Specialist Apprenticeship Programme in wood occupations in NI and are seeking a team of Heritage Ambassadors/Mentors. An opportunity has also become available to join the Heritage Specialist Apprentice programme in Conservation and Workshop Joinery. Read on for more details.......




Heritage Ambassadors/Mentors


CITB NI is seeking to identify a team of Ambassadors/Mentors to act as advocates for training in the heritage sector in Northern Ireland. Successful applicants will also provide mentoring and guidance to the trainees on the 12 month programme in wood occupations.
 
You will be a respected, experienced practitioner already working in, or recently retired from the built heritage sector, preferably but not exclusively with wood occupations.
 
· Appointment is non-salaried and non-pensionable
· The time commitment will be approximately 3 days over the duration of the project commencing October 2014
· Daily fee of £200 inclusive of travel expenses

Are you an Experienced Carpenter/Joiner?

An opportunity has become available to join the Heritage Specialist Apprentice programme with Hayburn & Co, based in Ballymena in Conservation and Workshop Joinery. You will receive bespoke, structured training and assessment leading to the achievement of the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Heritage Skills (Construction) – Wood Occupations both on and off the job.

You will be paid a bursary of £15,000 tax free for this 12 month training programme commencing as soon as possible.
