Women in Construction Event

CITB-ConstructionSkills NI’s Women in Construction Network held an event on Wednesday 23rd October 2013. The event was attended by a wide range of women and one gentleman from the industry including engineers, directors, tradespeople and even a school pupil.

The speakers were Lynsey McNeilly, a Site Engineer with Farrans Construction and Melanie Dawson, Design Manager and Innovation lead at Gilbert-Ash Ltd. Lynsey spoke about her career to date and the work she has been doing with schools and colleges to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects and the construction industry as a career. Melanie outlined her career to date and her work on implementing Building Information Modelling, a key management tool for the whole supply chain.
