Train and Claim your Grant and be ahead of the game.

CITB-ConstructionSkills NI has a £1.1 m training grant scheme for the local construction industry to help boost skills and prepare for the industry returning to growth.

The CITB-ConstructionSkills NI Training Grant Scheme offers support to a wide range of training and qualifications from apprentices through to the existing workforce including management and administration.

The 2013/2014 scheme forms a key element of the provision for businesses and offers an economic incentive to train and have a positive impact on the industry.

The scheme is structured into 3 Tiers focusing on employers, industry and training that can be facilitated by the organisation.
The grant application process for Tier 1 has been simplified and offers further flexibility to claim whilst you train. In a move to help employers maximise their grant claims an additional 2.5% can be earned by claiming online and a further 2.5% can be earned by paying levy electronically. Grants will be paid within 10 working days which will help employer’s cash flow in these difficult economic times.
Launching the new updated scheme for 2013/14 Barry Neilson, Chief Executive said, “We recognise when times are hard firms are forced to look at the bottom line of the balance sheet and they can often feel training is an added expense. However it is in these times that investing in training is more important than ever to help ensure we avoid a skills shortfall when the industry returns to growth. Training is important and is essential for the future of the industry; we encourage and support training to ensure the right skills in the right place at the right time. These are difficult times and it is the skills and qualifications of our workforce that will help us survive. We believe that those companies that have a fully trained workforce will have a competitive advantage over their rivals.”
