Strengthening Skills: CITB NI Releases New Standards for Plant Operator Training
CITB NI has launched the publication of a new standard for plant operator training, supervision, and maintenance. As part of its ongoing commitment to raise the skill levels and professionalism within the local construction industry, CITB NI has developed this standard, the first of its kind, to establish clear guidelines for training providers and industry professionals.
The newly published standard outlines the minimum recommended knowledge and understanding required for plant operator training, plant instructors, site supervisors, and those responsible for plant maintenance. This initiative is designed to ensure that all individuals involved in plant operations are equipped with the necessary skills and expertise to perform their roles safely and effectively.
CITB NI Chief Executive Barry Neilson OBE, said, “The introduction of these new standards for plant operator training, supervision, and maintenance marks a significant step forward for the local construction industry. By establishing clear and rigorous guidelines, we are ensuring that our workforce is not only skilled and knowledgeable but also capable of meeting the highest safety and operational standards. With a clear focus on training, maintenance and delivery we urge all training providers to adopt these standards, as they are crucial to the continued success and development of our industry”
