Quality Control - Inspecting Skills (Concrete & Reinforcement)

By the end of this course the delegates will have a greater understanding of the acceptance criteria for quality control inspections of concrete and reinforcement on their project. They will be able to refer to information widely available from manufacturers to ensure that the products used, and placement methods meet the specification requirements.

Who should attend?

Those responsible for carrying out quality control checks on a construction project, from site supervisors, engineers, to project managers, clients and designers.

Content - 2 hours theory, and 1 hour practical to include:

Part A Concrete -

• Reviewing the specification – the key information regarding quality.

• Consistency / Slump – the correct procedure to follow on site from equipment through to practical application.

• Compressive strength – Concrete Cubes – the correct procedure to follow on site from equipment through to practical application.

• Reviewing test results for conformity.

• Placing and compacting concrete – Best Practice.
