Local men represent Construction at recent WorldSkills competition

Four local young crafts people recently participate as part of Team UK at World Skills Abu Dhabi 2017. The four individuals, three from the Construction and Building Technology Sector competed over the four days of the 15th – 18th October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ABNEC).

The competitors, Adam Ferguson in Landscape Gardening, Andrew Gault in Autobody Repair, Armondas Tamulis, Wall & Floor Tiling and Cameron Nutt in Carpentry competed in front of over 100,000 visitors and in extreme temperature.
Of the four competitors Andrew won a Bronze Medal, Adam was awarded a Medallion for Excellence, with Armondas and Cameron competed courageously but just missing out.

Over all the Northern Ireland competitors contributed to Team UK being placed 10 in the medal ranking out of 46 competing countries.

Attention now turns to the selection of UK Squad members for World Skills 2019 in Kazan, Russia at the WSUK Skills Show at the NEC, Birmingham in November.
