Levy Return Deadline - Appeals Process

Employers who have missed the CITB NI Annual Return Deadline are unable to claim grant between 1 September 2018 - 31 August 2019. Employers have the right of appeal against this decision.

CITB NI has clearly communicated the levy return deadline to all registered employers using a variety of communication channels e.g. email, text, postcards, website etc. In addition, in the current year CITB NI has provided employers with an opportunity to submit their annual return form on line from June 2018.

This means that CITB NI has allowed a 10 week period for the statutory return to be completed. Therefore for an appeal to be initially considered by CITB NI it must be clear that there have been extenuating circumstances that has prevented an employer from submitting an annual return within this 10 week period.

Please note that an employer can only appeal once against the Levy Return deadline and the appeal must be received within the training year 01 September 2018 and 31 August 2019.
