Important information for those employers who claim CITB NI Training Grants

CITB NI offers direct grants to our registered employers for support in a wide range of training and qualifications for their employees working in Northern Ireland. Whether you’re training new recruits, developing established staff or looking for improvements in other areas of your business, we can offer advice on training and grants to meet your needs.

Please note the following essential information when applying for Tier 1 Direct Grants to Employers;
• Grant Applications for Tier 1 grant MUST be received by CITB NI within 3 months of commencement of training, otherwise grant will be declined. Grant applications can still be submitted even if all the supporting information is not available at the time the training is completed.
• Grant will only be paid to employers who submit an actual levy return form during the month of August 2016. Those employers taking the option must comply with the appropriate deadlines, otherwise you will not be eligible to claim grant in the training year 1 Sept 2016 to 31 August 2017.
• Levy Payers will only be eligible to receive grant aid to the value of total levy paid. This limit does not apply to apprentice grants.
• All registered employers below the levy threshold of £80,000 are eligible to claim grant to the value of £500. This limit does not apply to apprentice grants.
• We reserve the right to request evidence of employment for those employees for which grant is being claimed.
• An employer should not rely on statements made by third partied about grant rates, eligible training or the claiming process.
