Get involved in the Roofing Apprenticeship Programme
Our Construction industry needs more qualified roofers? We need to attract and retain new talent to help fill the skills gap in the roofing sector.
Construction employers –Support the industry to ensure it is skilled and ready for future growth and opportunities.
CITB NI and the Department for the Economy (DfE), are delivering
a fully funded apprenticeship through People 1st for new and existing employees in the roofing industry.
Eligibility
Aged under 25
-
be about to take up paid employment as an apprentice with a roofing company, or be an existing employee in a company who is about to undertake a new role that requires significant training and development
-
be permanently contracted to work a minimum of 21 hours per week (which includes time for 'off-the-job' training)

Must attend training during contracted hours at CITB NI premises 1 day per week.
Qualifications
As part of this programme you will achieve
-
Level 2 CSkills NVQ Diploma in Roofing Operations
-
Level 2 CSkills Diploma in Roof Slating and Tiling
-
Essential skills: Application of Number, Communication and ICT
Training will take place at Nutts Corner Training Centre, 17 Dundrod Road, Crumlin BT29 4SR.

Construction Employer Funding
DfE New Apprenticeship Incentive Scheme :
As an employer, you will be eligible for
up to £3,000 for each new apprenticeship
opportunity created from
1 April 2020 to 31 March 2022
Payment: An Employer Incentive Payment of
£750 is also available to employers
whose employees successfully complete their Apprenticeship framework.
CITB NI Grant : CITB NI will provide grants to registered employers who meet the current grant conditions.

Construction apprenticeships are an important part of the career ladder and are beneficial to both the apprentice and the employer. Learning on the job is crucial to skills development whilst gaining the formal qualifications at the same time.
