Folk Museum Making Festival August 2023

CITB NI are delighted to be working with Ulster Folk Museum to deliver the first ever Folk Museum Making Festival on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th August, where we’ll be honouring the traditional crafts and heritage skills that have shaped our history.

Discover many of Ireland’s fascinating building traditions, from the intricate art of thatching to the skilful craftsmanship of stonemasonry, limewashing and drystone walling.

Meet talented makers who'll be joining us over the weekend sharing their crafts including signwriting, stained glass and straw rope making, plus our resident craft demonstrators at Ulster Folk Museum who work with wood, willow, wool and more. 

There’ll also be traditional music sessions, food trucks, screenings in the Picture House and a craft fair where you can purchase works by applied artists and makers in collaboration with @CraftNI.
