CITB NI building on career foundations at Skills NI

CITB NI were hands on promoting careers in construction at Northern Ireland’s largest careers exhibition Skills NI on 18 & 19 October. Over 6000 students attended the event representing over 80 schools across the Province.

Students were able to try their hand at building a staircase from scratch, participate in a time trial roof building competing and take part in the online Go Construct personality quiz which highlighted which career was suited to them.

Construction Ambassadors were on hand to talk about their real life experiences of working in the industry and give them an insight of construction careers.

The roofing challenge created a lot of competition amongst schools and congratulations goes to Antrim Grammar girls who were top of the leaderboard on day one with a time of 1 minute 29 seconds and Methodist College Belfast on day two with a time of 1 minute 19 seconds.

CITB NI had a very successful two day event highlighting promotion construction careers and the opportunities that are available within the industry.
