The Construction Industry Training Board NI (CITB NI) annual SkillBuild NI Finals 2022 competition has taken place at their Nutt’s Corner Training Centre on Wednesday 4th May 2022.

Supported by the Department for the Economy and local construction companies, the competition provides an opportunity to showcase the high level of skills and the impressive talent within the workforce, as well as raising the status and standards of professional and technical education and training.
79 of the brightest recruits and top performers within construction apprenticeship programmes from across Northern Ireland competed against each other to win in categories ranging from brickwork to wall and floor tiling. The SkillBuild NI competition is designed to test skills, technique, ability within tight timeframes, and identifies the top performers in 10 different trade areas.
Winners from the NI finals, announced in July 2022, will have the opportunity to represent Northern Ireland in the Skillbuild UK and/or Skill M&E UK National Finals leading potentially to represent Team UK at WorldSkills in 2024.

SkillBuild NI is a competition, governed by CITB NI, the competition takes place annually in Spring with the top local construction apprentices competing to win coveted titles ranging from Brickwork to Wall and Floor Tiling.  The winners may then go on to represent Northern Ireland in the WorldSkills UK (WSUK) Live Competition at the NEC, Birmingham (November) leading potentially to selection within Team GB to compete at the WorldSkills Competition.
