COVID-19 Impact on CSR Cards

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, CSR is asking employers and those responsible for checking CSR cards to be flexible if a card has recently expired. This approach is supported by CPD and the Government Construction Clients. This guidance will be kept under review on a regular basis during these exceptional circumstances.

New cards

Please note this does not extend to those individuals who have not yet completed training or those who previously held a CSR card in the past.

Renewal Supervisor & Plant cards

Pearson-Vue test centres for the CITBGB Health, Safety and Environment test are currently closed due to Covid 19 so these tests cannot be completed at these venues. It is our understanding a number of independent test centres remain open in Northern Ireland. This may impact the renewal of CSR plant and supervisor cards. CSR will not renew these cards without confirmation that the operative has passed the relevant touch screen test. As above employers and those responsible for checking CSR cards are asked to be flexible in this situation.

The grace periods available for the renewal of supervisor, manager and plant cards will be extended by 3 months to avoid candidates renewing these cards being required to complete the full courses instead of the refresher course or technical test.

CSR training providers remain open at present and are taking all the necessary precautions as  per the Public Health Agency advice to ensure the safety of their staff and delegates.

Our business continuity plan is operational to ensure cards can still be processed and queries answered.
