Grants


This section will give general information regarding grants scheme and downloadable information.

Please note that all grant claims must be received by CITB NI within three months of commencement of training or upon registrations onto course or apprenticeship scheme, otherwise grant will be declined. Please submit your grant claim now to comply as any supporting documents can follow.

CITB NI offers direct grants to our registered employers for support in a wide range of training and qualifications for their employees working in Northern Ireland. The grant support also covers short duration training courses including first aid, business courses and site safety courses.  Why not check out our  Training Directory  to help you identify courses and training providers. Claiming Grants Online

It is easy to claim your grant online, its quicker, more cost effiective and all done by clicking on the button at the top of the screen.

Please note that once a grant claim has been submitted online this cannot be edited and you will be unable to upload attachments.  Please email any supporting grants information to grants@citbni.org.uk

Please note the essential Terms and Conditions for the 2023/24 Training Year;

1. Grant claims can only be submitted for employees who work in Northern Ireland and declared on the employers Annual Return Form.
2. Deadline for all Levy Return Forms including Options and New Registrations must be adhered to otherwise Grants will be restricted to apprentice grant only.
3. The only category of grant that will be capped for levy and non-levy payers is short duration training courses lasting up to ten days. Please refer to the Eligibility and Conditions of the Direct Grants to Employers 2023/24.
4. All grant claims must be received by CITB NI within three months of commencement of training or upon registration onto course or apprenticeship scheme, otherwise grant will be declined.
5. From 1 September 2023 all supporting information relating to short duration off the job, in-house training and training providers must be received within three months of training taken place.
6. Employers are encouraged to make grant claims online at www.citbni.org.uk

Training in Partnership Funding

The Training in Partnership funding is directly avallable to industry federations and representative bodies or provide training as identified and procured by CITB NI on behalf of the construction industry. Training in Partnership programmes delivered over recent years include Women in Plant Programme,  NVQ Level 2 Roof Slating & Tiling, Mental Health Training and #Not Just for Boys Programme delivered by Women’s TEC.
